What’s Making Me Happy This Week VI

Our board game collection (and board games in general really)

First time playing Boss Monster. I’m Seducia the Sorceress of Sexiness

Between the wedding (Amazon registries for the win!) and Christmas, our board game collection has really filled out. We went from a handful of games to almost 20 different games (and a lack of storage for them!) Smallword, Ticket to Ride, and Boss Monster are probably our favorite games right now, but that’s just a fraction of our game collection now. Bullet journaling YummySushiPJs kept mentioning her bullet journal in several of her Instagram posts which got my curious. A quick Googling got me to the Bullet Journal site, and my list has pretty much been revolutionized. For me, journaling is one of those things that I love the idea of it, but when it comes to actually executing….well, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. In my head journaling requires elaborately crafted “Dearest Diary” entries, but those pretty much end up reading something like…

“Dearest Diary, Today I did the same thing I do every day. I ate pretty much the same thing I eat every day. I skipped my workout again. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get up for that early morning gym sesh.! xoxo, Stina”

My bullet journal is sort of a planner/ journal hybrid. I keep my weekly meal plans, daily schedule, and weekly work-out schedule in there, but I can also add whatever I want – random notes, stickers or other scraps, more elaborate, self-reflection style journal entries, doodles, whatever! The other day, I taped in a wrapper from a really awesome piece of super dark chocolate I ate witha  note that said, “Damn. This was good.” Honestly, if I started to take a bullet journal approach to blogging, I might actually blog with some sort of frequency! My new avatar

I updated my avatar across my various social media platforms yesterday because I just love this picture. It was one I snapped randomly while settling in to my hotel bed to read Game of Thrones so there’s nothnig special about it, but it makes me smile.

#NoExcuses with #SweatPink

To kick off the year and get my butt back in gear after a longer than it should have been hiatus, I’ve committed to the SweatPink #NoExcuses campaign. One of the first tasks is to complete the mad lib below. It’s kind of serious kind of serious.

sweatpink #noexcuses

  • Hey 2015, it’s me Stina

  • This year I would like to drop these extra pounds I picked up last year, get back into running, and finally be able to do those 10 unmodified push-ups without a struggle.

  • It would also be super duper awesome if I also did a triathlon this year. It’s not a resolution, though, just a reminder to myself to try and have the best year yet because I’m capable of so much more than I let myself believe sometimes.

  • The thing I am looking forward to most this year is spending the first year of wedded bliss not putting on too many “happy pounds.”

  • Speaking of excuses (ahem), my very favorite excuse is not enough time, and I have used it to skip my work-outs on more than enough occasions.

  • I vow to move my body and be more healthy this year even if it means I have to actually get my ass out of bed for a morning workout!

  • Even if my alarm clock gets eaten by the dog in the middle of the night, I’ll still…let’s be honest, if the dog eats my alarm clock, I’m kicking his doggy butt.

  • I will stop blaming the cat for eating the rest of the dog’s food when everyone knows it was really me…wait, no it wasn’t really me. I probably did eat all the cookies though.

  • My Netflix addiction are not the reason I make excuses. I will show my Netflix addiction who’s boss this year and by using it to do workout videos when I’m too lazy to leave the house!

  • I know that even 10 minutes of yoga at home is better than nothing at all.

  • I will reward myself by buying myself some new, perfectly fitting clothes.

  • No Excuses 2015 has just begun and already I am imagining myself a winning something from Augusta ActiveShowerPill body wipes, Actio926ActivMotion Bar, or Sasquatch Racing. I mean…I have to win something, right?

  • Oh, and let’s not forget how amazing my beat up workout leggings will smell after washing with some WIN Detergent. And lastly, I’ll keep rocking my 2015 with clean eats and nutrition from Beaming with Health!

  • Click here if you’re interested in joining!

  • Use the #NoExcuses hashtag and post to win prizes from Augusta Active, ShowerPill, ActivMotion Bar, WIN Detergent, Actio926, Beaming with Health, and Sasquatch Racing.
